At the Avenue we believe it is our responsibility to train and equip men and women to connect to God and help restore a broken world back to him. It is our desire that we would always be sending out men and women from the Avenue to restore what’s broken here in Louisville and around the world.
So if you are someone who wants to be changed by Christ and then be part of seeing the world around you changed as well, the multiplicity project is for you. We offer 4 different levels or tiers of training to equip you to more fully live out a life following Christ. You do not have to move through the Tiers sequentially but each level does build upon the ones below it.

The 4 Tiers of the Multiplicity Project
Tier 1 The Basics: Missional Living & Gospel Living (8 weeks)
Missional Living & Gospel Living are both courses that explore the basics of living your life connected to Jesus (Gospel Iiving) and then living like Jesus in the world around you (missional living).
These two classes run every fall and spring semester you can take both classes together or back to back.
Tier 2 Engaging Scripture: Theology & Apologetics (8 weeks)
Both of these courses are designed to give people a working, practical use of theology and apologetics. They aren’t designed so that you can win arguments with people. Instead, they are designed so that you can better understand and live out the life Jesus calls us to. In theology you gain a practical knowledge of how to read and interpret scripture and in apologetics you gain practical knowledge of why we believe what we believe. They are both offered every fall and spring semester.
Tier 3 Engaging the World: Internships & Forge Training (one semester –one year)
Tier 3 is all about engaging the world around you. These more intense offerings last anywhere from a semester to a year and are designed to prepare you for a lifestyle of engaging and serving the world around you. In this tier there are two options:
- An internship with the Avenue where you will learn and lead in a variety of fields.
- Forge training which focuses on learning to be a missionary in the context of your everyday life.
Tier 4 Movement Building: Church Planter in Residence (18-24 months)
We want to be a church that reproduces other churches in college towns across America. One of the best ways to do that is to train future church planters through a residency. A church planting residency is an 18-24 month experience where you join the Avenue as a full time staff member. During your time with us we invest heavily in you so that you in turn go and invest heavily in the community God calls you to. 2-5 years of previous ministry experience is required.
