Basically the Galatians are trying to change the terms of the contract. The Galatians are trying to put themselves in the role of God; the only problem is that they have no way of fulfilling their end of the bargain
Here is what happened, what didn’t happen, and the plan for moving forward..
Recently I heard a very powerful example of how one person spent meaningful time with another who in turn influenced another which saved countless lives.
Hey Everyone,
Here is the trivia. UofL is credited with having the first emergency room in the nation. Back then it was called a first accidents service. Just an interesting fact about one of the Avenue’s biggest “who & where’s”
And here is the news.
- February 13 Coffee & Questions - This laid back, informal time right after service is for anyone who wants to know more about the Avenue. Ask questions, learn about next steps, and have some free coffee or soda. To find out more or to RSVP email jeromie@avechurch.com
- Kairos – This 10 week class is designed to help Christians develop a God centered view of the world around them and his work in it. For more details or to sign up email karl@avechurch.com.
- February 26th Saturday Seminar Missional Imagination – Join us from 10am to noon to hear internationally recognized missiologist Kim Hammond discuss how to engage in the mission field right where you live and work. For anyone looking for their “who and where” this is an event you don’t want to miss. Cost is $15 lunch is included. To register or for more information email jeromie@avechurch.com.
- Who and Where Updates – One of the core things we will continue to talk about as a church family is our “who and where.” We want to share the stories of people who have found their who and where and what God is doing through that. We need people that would be willing to share their who and where story with others. If public speaking freaks you out, don’t worry. You don’t have to give a speech, you simply answer simple questions. So if you have found your who and where and would like to be a blessing to others email jeromie@avechurch.com so we can share the stories.
If you have any questions email us at info@avechurch.com. See you Sunday as we wrap up Use Somebody.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is arriving back in town safely. Just wanted to let everyone know how important the month of January is going to be. Ben will be preaching a series called The New Normal. This series is going to be foundational for the future of The Avenue. The next few weeks are going to be weeks you don’t want to miss. Also If you’ve been waiting to invite someone to services, this series would be a great time to do so. So now here are the weekly announcements.
- January 2 The New Normal & Dessert Extravaganza - Join us as we kick off the new year with a series that will change the way you see your life. Afterward we are going to have a pitch in dessert time. We’ll provide drinks; you bring your favorite/best dessert. We’ll put off the New Year’s diet one more day and celebrate as a church family.
- January 16-30 Partnership Class - For anyone who has wanted to join the Avenue as their church home, we are going to have our first partnership classes starting January 16th. This three week class will meet from 4-5pm each Sunday before services. For more information or to sign up email jeromie@avechurch.com.
As always if you have any questions email us at info@avechurch.com. See you Sunday as we start The New Normal.
